Wedding Poems – A Free Way To Express Your Love

Today I have set up a free wedding poems section so that you can have a free way to express your love at your upcoming wedding. No matter how tight money is it at your wedding by just adding some loving bits and pieces can certainly make your day complete.

You can choose a wedding poem each to read out to each other or alternatively get your best man and maid of honour to do one each. You could plan it so that one is read out at the wedding and the other at the wedding reception. The bride is often silent during speaches time so this can be your time to make your mark and get your voice heard.

First Corinthians 13:4-8, The Bible

Here is another fantastic wedding poem for your wedding that I recommend called First Corinthians 13:4-8, The Bible.

Corinthians 13:4-8, The Bible

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude.

Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

With You In My Heart By Mick Jennings

Here is another fantastic wedding poem for your wedding that I recommend called With You In My Heart By Mick Jennings.

With You In My Heart

With you in my heart, my life is complete,
You’re the air that I breathe and the food that I eat.
You are my soul mate, the beat in my heart,
It feels like a year each second we’re apart.

With you in my heart I’m walking on air,
I can imagine your perfume and the touch of your hair.
Your beautiful eyes, so kind and so green,
The loveliest sight I ever have seen.

This Day I Married My Best Friend

Here is another fantastic wedding poem for your wedding that I recommend called The Day I Married My Best Friend.

The Day I Married My Best Friend

This day I married my best friend
the one I laugh with as we share life’s wonderous zest,
as we find new enjoyments and experience all that’s best.
the one I live for because the world seems brighter
as our happy times are better and our burdens feel much lighter.
the one I love with every fiber of my soul.
We used to feel vaguely incomplete, now together we are whole.

I Belong In Your Arms By Deborah Bridea

Here is another fantastic wedding poem for your wedding that I recommend called I Belong In Your Arms By Deborah Bridea.

I Belong In Your Arms

I belong in your arms
Finally, I have found a place
Into which I fit Perfectly, Safely
And securely with no doubts,
No fears, No sadness, No tears.

This place is filled with happiness and laughter
Yet it is spacious enough, to allow me
The freedom to move around,
To live my life and be myself.
This wonderful place, which I never believed really existed,
I have found Finally
Inside your arms, Inside your heart, inside your love.

I Carry Your Heart

I carry your heart with me (I carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
I fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) I want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

The Married Lover by Coventry Patmore

Here is another fantastic wedding poem for your wedding that I recommend called The Married Lover by Coventry Patmore.

The Married Lover

WHY, having won her, do I woo?
Because her spirit’s vestal grace
Provokes me always to pursue,
But, spirit-like, eludes embrace;
Because her womanhood is such
That, as on court-days subjects kiss
The Queen’s hand, yet so near a touch
Affirms no mean familiarness,

Nay, rather marks more fair the height
Which can with safety so neglect
To dread, as lower ladies might,
That grace could meet with disrespect;
Thus she with happy favor feeds
Allegiance from a love so high
That thence no false conceit proceeds
Of difference bridged, or state put by;

Love’s Philosophy by Percy Shelley

Here is another fantastic wedding poem for your wedding that I recommend called Love’s Philosophy by Percy Shelley.

Love’s Philosophy

The fountains mingle with the river,
And the rivers with the ocean;

The winds of heaven mix forever,
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In one another’s being mingle:-
Why not I with thine?

See! the mountains kiss high heaven,
And the waves clasp one another;
Now sister flower would be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea:-
What are all these kissing’s worth,
If thou kiss not me?

How Do I Love Thee? by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Here is another fantastic wedding poem for your wedding that I recommend called How Do I Love Thee by Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

How Do I Love Thee

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being an Ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old grief’s, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,–I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!–and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

Hope Is The Thing With Feathers by Emily Dickinson

Here is another fantastic wedding poem for your wedding that I recommend called Hope Is The Thing With Feathers by Emily Dickinson.

Hope Is The Thing With Feathers by Emily Dickinson

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chilliest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity
It asked a crumb of me.

Why Marriage? by Mari Nichols

Here is another fantastic wedding poem for your wedding that I recommend called Why Marriage.

Why Marriage?

Because to the depths of me, I long to love one person,
With all my heart, my soul, my mind, my body…

Because I need a forever friend to trust with the intimacies of me,
Who won’t hold them against me,
Who loves me when I’m unlikable,
Who sees the small child in me, and
Who looks for the divine potential of me…

Because I need to cuddle in the warmth of the night
With someone who thanks God for me,
With someone I feel blessed to hold…

Fidelity by D.H. Lawrence

Here is another fantastic wedding poem for your wedding that I recommend called Fidelity by DH Lawrence.

Fidelity

Man and woman are like the earth, that brings forth flowers
in summer, and love, but underneath is rock.
Older than flowers, older than ferns, older than foraminiferae,
older than plasm altogether is the soul underneath.
And when, throughout all the wild chaos of love
slowly a gem forms, in the ancient, once-more-molten rocks
of two human hearts, two ancient rocks,
a man’s heart and a woman’s,
that is the crystal of peace, the slow hard jewel of trust,
the sapphire of fidelity.
The gem of mutual peace emerging from the wild chaos of love.

I Ching

Here is another fantastic wedding poem for your wedding that I recommend called I Ching.

I Ching

When two people are at one
in their inmost hearts,
they shatter even the strength of iron or bronze.
And when two people understand each other
in their inmost hearts,
their words are sweet and strong,
like the fragrance of orchids.
